Are you ready to be the strong force that you’ve always known is deep inside? I can feel it burning, and I know you can too.
And you’ve come to the right place. . I want to help you unlock the door that that flame is hiding behind.
I’m Jennifer aka “Jenny MetCon”. I’m a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition coach, but also a wife, mother, creator, and blogger.
So, I guess that makes me kind of a “mutt”.
I work with beautiful, strong, inspiring women of all ages and demographics who may just not know how amazing they are and need a little help finding that inner beast that’s hiding deep within.
You might want to know how I came to develop this passion.
It started a long time ago when a seed was planted in me that had never truly blossomed. In fact, it never got the nurturing it needed to truly grow. But, nevertheless, was still there.
I always knew I wanted to help people.
In college I bounced around from one major to the next. I went from teaching, to nursing, and finally landed on psychology. I still didn’t know what I wanted to do with it, but I figured that I would figure it out eventually.
I found out I was pregnant at the end of my Junior year of college.
I discovered then, that I had become what I always wanted to be…a Mom.
I wanted to be that healthy, loving, full of energy mom that you see in movies.
Reality slapped me in the face. I was the opposite of all of those things.
I had gained weight before in my life…and lost it. But I had never looked or felt like this.
I wanted to do something different, something to help me lose weight, but grow my inner beast.
After years of being scared of what others thought of me, doubting myself, and self-sabotage, I finally put my foot down.
Enough was Enough.
I signed up for my first marathon, started lifting, and decided that I didn’t really want to follow in any “traditional” career path. And I made this choice about 4 weeks post partum.
I still graduated from college (after hours of commuting and frustration-tears) with a degree in Psychology. I was blessed to take the Psychology of Passion as my senior capstone that really changed my entire perspective on psychology in general. It allowed me to truly embrace the concept of Positive Psychology and apply that to my passion for helping people with their own mindset, specifically through fitness.
It was then that I discovered that fitness is so much more then just losing weight to look good. It’s accomplishing goals, working really hard, having discipline, and developing grit. This started spilling over into every aspect of my life. I felt my life change. I knew I was growing so much as a person.
It became my goal, my purpose and my passion to help others experience the same thing.
All of these things are pretty serious and deep, and go beyond just fitness and nutrition.
I apply what I have learned, while also applying what I have experienced in my own life.
I’m here to tell you, and more importantly show you that you have the key to unlock your inner strength and happiness. I’m here to help, support, and guide you along the way.
Welcome to the #embraceyourstrength community. I’m so happy that you’re here.
It all may seem pretty intense, but in my core I’m a kind hearted goofball.
