A true sense of accomplishment is one of the greatest joys in life. There is a powerful rush of pride that comes from pushing past what you thought were your boundaries. As you accomplish your goals, you begin to see that your life can be better, richer, and fuller. You feel your life changing into what you want it to be. Sadly, some never feel it. They only see it in you and it makes them feel small. They won’t put in the effort necessary to feel it for themselves so they settle for the next best thing. They try to take that feeling from you by putting in their little two cents about how your accomplishment doesn’t count or isn’t so great after all. These people are toxic to your life. There will always be naysayers, people who try to take away a piece of what you’ve worked hard for. That’s life. However, you don’t have to associate with them. Get rid of them.
The most valuable thing we have in this life is time. We don’t live forever, and one day we will have run out of time to do the things we always wanted to do. Why should you want to waste a second of your life on someone who is constantly tearing you down? You shouldn’t. You should spend your time with people who want to improve themselves. When you hang around people who have the same drive that you do, you notice something. They also have things to say about your accomplishments. They also talk about how you could have done better. But the difference is that their criticism comes from a different place. They want you to be better. They want to see you achieve more. Because they have accomplishments of their own they don’t need to take away from yours. They want to experience and celebrate your accomplishments with you.
I guarantee that your entire life will improve if you will just replace the negative people in your life with positive people. Don’t let negative people rob you of the energy necessary to live life to the fullest. Channel your energy into improving yourself and sharing your life with those rooting for you. You will raise your own bar, and most importantly give the naysayers a reason to look in the mirror. You will win. Period.
